Secrets to MY Natural Hair Care
I have gotten asked alot of questions about my hair care routine lately. So I wanted to share all the details here on my blog. My hair journey has been interesting as I was a huge lover of touch ups. But I accidentally went natural as I got lazy wearing wigs and went an entire year and a half without putting a touch up in my hair so I had no choice but to keep it natural. So now, I’ve been natural for nearly 3 years and my hair has nearly transitioned. Here are all the things I’m currently doing in my hair care routine.
Things I'm Doing
1. Drinking 64oz of water
Water is so essential in so many ways. I’ve been a mission this year to drink plenty of water and it’s working quite well! I grabbed this water bottle counter to help me reach my daily goals.
2. Taking Vitamins
I’m a huge fan of viatmins. I’ve taken a variety of vitamins for years. I like to take prenatals as they are filled with tons of vitamins and supplements. I’m currently taking Source of Life prental vitamins.
3. Eating Healthy
Believe it or not, but eating healthy is great for your total body including your hair! I like to include an abundance of protein in my diet.

FAQ?
- Do I oil my scalp? NO I do not put any oils on my scalp. The only time I use oil is either (1) when my ends are dry–I’ll use 100% coconut oil on the ENDS or (2) after I wash it–I will use a light oil (like argon oil) after I blow dry it.
- Do I wrap my hair? No, I do not. I normally just pin or plait it up on my head.
- Do I use heat on my hair? Yes, I do each time after I wash it.
- How often do I wash my hair? Every 4-6 weeks.
- Did I do a major chop before going natural? No I did not. I just let it grow and gradually cut off a little bit after each wash.
