Color Scheme & Theme
First, you want to choose a theme and a color scheme then start building out the room. I was going for a very clean look and I wanted it to be elegant and luxe. I used a free online design program so I could get an idea of how it would look before hand. The program did not give the exact outcome, but it at least gave me an idea of the dimension, space and what color theme that would look best. I went for a ivory and white color scheme. I also layered different textures and elements to give a luxurious feel.
Furniture
Second, the living room furniture design is important. I chose a gorgeous set from Meridian which I found on Hayneedle. I went with a modern velvet cream sofa, 2 chairs and a matching ottoman. It is tufted all over, has silver nail trim around the bottom and sides, and I love that it has acrylic legs. It is firm yet very comfortable for sitting.
Rug
The rug is incredibly soft. This was a Tuesday Morning find for $200. It is a cream 8×10 with black line details. It’s made out of wool and is so plush and beautiful. I love it.
Coffee Table
In the center of the room, I added a faux marble coffee table with glass detail that I found on Overstock. Its so elegant and brings just the right touch to the room.
Accessories
Now for the details that bring it all together. The flowers on the coffee table and vase are from Ross and the bowl from HomeGoods.
I purchased the paintings from a Z Gallerie outlet. The outlet offers pieces for nearly a quarter of the price. I highly suggest you find one in your area!
The gold side table is also from Ross that I found for only $27.99. The textured white vase on top also came from Ross. For now I love the open windows and seeing the outdoors so I haven’t added any curtains.
The end table came from Z Gallerie. What I love about this end table is that it has a gorgeous design on the front of the drawers that adds texture and it comes with both silver and gold hardware so you can switch it if you please. I also found these big mosaic mirrored floor vases at Ross. Always look to add various designs and heights but maintain the same color scheme. Mosiac and mirror textures give you an elegant and luxurious feel. The flower petal lamp is also from Z Gallerie. It’s made from crystal and has a mirrored and crystal base.
