Healthier Options when Ordering Fast Food

Let’s face it, it is hard to cook meals everyday especially when you’re trying to live a healthier lifestyle. There are times when it’s just quicker and more convenient to pick up food at fast food restaurants. The good news is, you can still find healthier options to eat at fast food restaurants and not feel so guilty. Today, I’m going to share with you some healthier options when ordering fast food at Wendy’s.

For lunch, I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. It is topped with smoky honey mustard sauce, a mix of lettuce, and comes served on a toasted bun. I have to say that it is a really good sandwich and even better, it is only 370 calories! Wendy’s offers a variety of delicious chicken items such as the Buffalo Ranch Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Homestyle Chicken Sandwich, Spicy Asiago Club, Crispy Chicken BLT, Nuggets, Tenders and more!

I also ordered a plain baked potato along with the grilled chicken sandwich as my side item. Baked potatoes are a great alternative to fries if you’re trying to avoid fried food and it is only 270 calories. If you want to save even more calories, do not add sour cream and/or butter. Just add salt and pepper and you have a clean healthy baked potato and Wendy’s plain potatoes are very good!

For my drink, Wendy’s offers the natural Honest® Tropical Green Tea.  It is organic and freshly brewed. It is so delicious and is only 60 calories! Forget sodas and grab you one of these on ice!

I also have to have a dessert with every meal! One cookie won’t kill me. I ordered a Chocolate Chunk Cookie for my dessert. Wendy’s has three different varieties of soft cookies baked in-house – Chocolate Chunk Cookie, Double Chocolate Chip Cookie, and Sugar Cookie! These cookies appease my sweet tooth quickly and are so delicious! Being 310 calories, many times I break it in half and save the other half to eat for dinner. Wendy’s soft freshly baked cookies are simply amazing!
